Reports To: Head of Schools

Purpose of Role 

The role of the assistant principle is to assist the head of schools in overall administration and management of the online instructional program, teachers, learners, parents and learner discipline. The assistant principal ensures effective delivery of the curriculum and overall day to day management of the school timetable creating an engaging, holistic learning environment. Responsible for the management of teachers, assistant principals make suggestions, listen, and share experiences encouraging teacher improvement and motivation within classrooms. Working with the phase administrators, the assistant  principle is responsible for first line resolution of any complaints, enquiries and queries that arise from learners and parents.

Key Responsibilities 

  • Working with teachers to ensure high quality teaching standards
  • Assessing data such as grade standards and test scores
  • Management of teachers, parents and learners
  • Maintaining systems for attendance, performance, planning, and other reports
  • To significantly contribute to and enact the vision and values of Eduvate
  • To take on any additional responsibilities and duties as directed by the Head of schools
  • Work as part of the senior improvement team and be assigned to underperforming subjects and staff
  • To co-ordinate best practice across the phase
  • Helping to develop policies and procedures as well as managing systems to ensure excellent student behaviour for learning
  • Weekly, monthly and quarterly reports on: Staff issues, Complaints, Operational issues etc

Qualifications 

  • Bachelor’s Degree in teaching/education or specialized subject area with a certificate in education
  • Management qualifications a significant advantage
  • SACE Accreditation
  • Minimum 3-years proven experience as a teacher
  • Minimum 3-years proven management experience
  • Thorough knowledge of teaching best practices and legal educational guidelines partnered with a willingness to follow the Eduvate policies and procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong leadership skills with a keen understanding of transformational leadership
  • Strong moral values and discipline
  • Strong online/computer skills

Compensation: Commensurate with experience
